What the tier lists say

Each rating exactly as its tier list gives it, with the list's own date. Ratings are opinions, so lists often differ; we compare them only within one role.

What changed this patch

  • 1 Oct: Soul Harvesting renamed Soul Harvest — now +50/100% mana regeneration; Hellfire can crit; Drain Soul interrupts properly when you cast something else; pet Aggressive mode restored.

Sourced: Dev notes · 1 Oct

  • Life Tap tooltip corrected (scales with Spirit); Voidwalker Sacrifice correctly scales with 10% of spell healing.

Sourced: Dev notes · 24 Sep

  • 8 Oct: Shadow Bolt ranks 1–4 retuned so each new rank is an upgrade; your current pet is stunned while you summon another; Demonology's Demonic Brand pet damage causes high threat only when it is Shadow damage.

Seen in the beta

  • Sim, 11 Oct run: Demonology 830 (third of 20 damage results), Affliction 717 (seventh), Destruction 690 (13th). Demonology pulled 100 DPS clear of Destruction on the 3 Oct run, once Demonic Pact and Master Demonologist were modelled, and the class's PvE recommendation moved to Demonology then.

Sourced: Sim · 11 Oct run

  • Soul Link sits in Demonology row 5 and requires Demonic Sacrifice — the classic SL/SM PvP layout (30 Affliction / 21 Demonology) is legal in Forever and is what the L60 PvP build below is.

  • Warlock is the #3 leveler on every list (Voidwalker tank, drains, healthstones).
