Survival Hunter guide

Melee-weave DPS · our guide of 13 Oct 2026 Recommendation

Talent trees, every tier list's rating and the sim: the Survival tab.

In short

  • A Hunter who fights in melee and shoots between hits.
  • Number 2 of 20 damage specs in our newest sim run, at 836 DPS. Sourced: Sim · 11 Oct run
  • Built around Mongoose Bite: Expose Prey can make it usable when you hit a target with your Hunter's Mark on it, and Lacerating Strikes makes it leave a bleed. Sourced: Talent database
  • Weak spot: nobody has raided with it yet, so its level-60 build is theory.

How it plays

Up to level 30. Until the deep Survival talents it plays as a hybrid: Serpent Sting and shots at range, Raptor Strike whenever you're in melee, Mongoose Bite after the target dodges, and Wing Clip to keep it close. Predator's Edge and Deterrence come at 30. Predator's Edge makes your melee crits hit harder and your off-hand weapon deal more damage; use Deterrence for 25% more dodge and parry for 10 sec.

Sourced: Guide · 2 Oct, Talent database

At level 60. Theory Hunter's Mark first, so Expose Prey can trigger, which lasts 10 sec since 8 Oct. Mongoose Bite whenever it's usable, and Lacerating Strikes adds a bleed of 40% of the bite's damage over 21 sec. Raptor Strike in between, Strider Kick to close the gap (a weapon hit and 30% more speed for 3 sec), and Serpent Sting. Multi-Shot and Volley on packs.

Open with Hunter's Mark, Serpent Sting, close in.

  1. Raptor Strike on cooldown

Stats

Each guide's stat order as it gives it, the sim's stat weights, then ours. Guides dated before the last big tuning are shown but not counted.
