Fury Warrior guide
Talent trees, every tier list's rating and the sim: the Fury tab.
In short
- A melee damage dealer with a weapon in each hand.
- Number 1 of 20 damage specs in our newest sim run, at 951 DPS. Sourced: Sim · 11 Oct run
- Crits give Rage: since the 1 Oct build and its 2 Oct hotfix, a crit generates 100% extra Rage, so Fury's crit talents are Rage talents too. Sourced: Dev notes · 1 Oct
- Weapons first: both guides we read put weapon damage above every other stat, and so do we.
- Weak spot early on: Berserker Stance comes at level 30, and Whirlwind needs it, so packs of enemies are slow to kill before then.
How it plays
Up to level 30. Your damage is your weapons, and your Rage comes from hitting. The first talents are Cruelty for crit chance and Unbridled Wrath for extra Rage on melee hits, then Piercing Howl to slow a pack. Keep Rend up on enemies that live long enough, use Overpower when it lights up, and spend spare Rage on Heroic Strike, or on Cleave against two or more. At 30 you get Berserker Stance and Berserker Rage, which moved from 32 to 30 on 1 Oct, and Death Wish with your 21st talent point: use it for 20% more physical damage for 30 sec, at the cost of taking 5% more damage. Lingering Rage delays the Rage drain after a fight, so the next pull starts with Rage.

At level 60. Theory Bloodthirst and Whirlwind on cooldown, Execute below 20% health, and Heroic Strike or Cleave whenever Rage runs high. Flurry needs Death Wish, and Gore Drinker needs Enrage at 5 of 5: Gore Drinker makes your next three hits heal you after Bloodthirst, Death Wish, Bloodrage, Berserker Rage or an Enrage proc. Furious Precision gives off-hand hit chance.

Level 60: where gear will come from
- Pre-raid: Blackmaw Hold, Krol'dok Stronghold, Alcaz Prison for weapons — weapon DPS is still the biggest single upgrade, and weapon-skill racials are gone, so pick by DPS not type.
- Crafted: Blacksmithing weapons and 'Veteran's' mail/plate, Leatherworking 'Brawler's' leather; Enchanting ring Attack Power; Engineering gadgets.
- Expertise is new — dodge/parry reduction on gear matters for anyone attacking from the front (tanks' targets included).
- Raids open 9 December; no level-60 BiS exists yet.
Theory
What changed for Fury
8 Oct: Rage from damage taken reworked, so expect more Rage when hit. It is now tuned for 20–40% armor (was 50%), no longer drops with more Stamina, counts crits and crushing blows, and ignores absorbs.
Sourced: Dev notes · 8 Oct
1 Oct: crits generate 75% → then 100% extra Rage (hotfixed 2 Oct); Rend and Sunder Armor instantly tap enemies; Berserker Rage at 30 (was 32); Bloodthirst 45% AP (was 35%); Booming Voice adds 5–25% Rage cost reduction.
Sourced: Dev notes · 1 Oct
1 Oct Fury tree: new talents Lingering Rage (Rage decays 2–10 sec later), Furious Precision (off-hand hit, replaces Boundless Rage's slot), Gore Drinker (heal on Bloodthirst/Whirlwind/Execute, requires Enrage); Precision and Improved Cleave removed; Dual Wield Specialization no longer grants off-hand Rage/hit; Flurry now requires Death Wish.
