How the talent calculator works
Every class has a talent calculator. Build your talents, see why a point can't go somewhere, compare with our build and share it.
Adding and removing points
- With a mouse: click a talent to add a point; right-click to take one away.
- With a keyboard: Tab to a talent, Enter to add a point, Delete to take one away.
- On a phone: tap a talent to add a point; use − in the bar at the bottom to take one away.
When a point can't be added or removed, the bar says why in plain words.
The rules of the trees
- A row opens once you've spent enough points in that tree: 5 for the second row, 10 for the third, and so on. The numbers on the left of each tree show it.
- Some talents need another talent at its maximum rank first. A line connects them.
- The bar shows how many of the 51 points you've spent.
Points by level
You get your first talent point at level 10 and one more each level: 11 points at level 20, 21 at 30 and 51 at 60. The calculator compares your build with ours at the level closest to the points you've spent.
The Legacy perk Talented unlocks talent points up to 5 levels sooner. The calculator still follows the normal schedule; the sim accepts the earlier points.
Comparing with our build
Pick one of our builds for the class to see it next to yours. A lilac outline marks a talent in our build that isn't in yours, with “ours 3” on its badge; a dashed amber outline marks one in yours that isn't in ours. With no outline, both builds have it, and the badge shows both ranks.
Sharing a build
The address in your browser's address bar is the link to your build, and it updates with every change. Copy it to share. Anyone who opens it sees the same build, and can change it without changing yours.
A link made for an older version of the trees still opens. Points that no longer fit are taken out, and the calculator says so.
Simming a build
Sim this build opens the sim with your talents and the engine's preset gear for your spec. To sim your own gear, export your character from the game: Sim help.
